ABOUT THE RIDE Start your engines... for the families affected by 9.11...3200 miles, America's Ride travels Coast to Coast, departing from San Diego and arriving in New York / New Jersey in 10 days. Honoring the heroes, we will cover 33 fire stations and 11 Host Cities, making a number of gas and food stops along the way. However...one not need to ride the entire distance, or from one Host City to another - participants can ride from any place or town they wish. The object is to end up in at least one of the Host Cities, to participate and enjoy the activities that are happening in these America's Ride designated locations. Since the purpose of America's Ride is to raise awareness and funds for the World Trade Center Miracles Foundation, we simply ask those riding to register and donate. America's Ride, developed and managed by San Pedro, California based Positive Ions, draws its inspiration from the WTCMF and its Chairman Mitch Morrison's experience with the surviving members and families of the World Trade Center disaster of 09.11.01. America's Ride's fundraising effort will support one of five funds supported by the WTCMF, which was founded on September 28, 2001 to assist and aid in the financial recovery of surviving members of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The goal of the WTCMF is to raise substantial amounts of money on behalf of these families, and to provide these funds quickly and directly into the hands of those that need assistance. The ride event itself is open to people of all ages (and motorcycle brands.) Likewise, the attendees at the Host Cities events are not limited to motorcycle enthusiasts. Please visit the ever evolving AmericasRide.com for the facts and figures associated with this highly memorable event that will be tough to be left out of... |
